REET Preparation Tips 2017: Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) will conduct the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) tentatively in the month of October 2017. REET Preparation Tips 2017 – Important Topics of Each Section

The REET 2017 exam consists of two papers, paper -1 and paper 2. Paper 1 is for the candidates interested to teach class 1 -5 and paper 2 is for those who want to work with class 6-8. Both the papers of REET 2017 will consist of 5 sections and candidates will have to make sure that they qualify each section. Candidates can check the list of important topics for each section of the exam according REET exam pattern given below.
Child Development and Pedagogy: The unit on child development and pedagogy will try to test the candidates educational psyche of the candidates according to the age group of the paper chosen by them. The questions in this unit will need the candidates to understand the characteristics, needs and psychology, how to interact with kids of different age groups. Candidates are advised to have deep understanding of the complete course material for clear understanding of all the topics in this unit.

Language (1 & 2 ): Candidates will have to choose 2 different language according to their interest. Language 1 will test the expertise of the candidates on the language. Candidates are advised to make the choice after giving a lot of thought as complete command over the language is necessary.
The choice of language 2 will be different from language 1. The questions in this unit will test the candidates on parts of language (spoken and written), communication and comprehension abilities.
  • Linguistic understanding and conclusions.
  • Unseen passage - Anecdotes, phrases, travel stories, understanding of one-on-one (questions can be from a literary, scientific, narrative or irrelevant aspect).
  • Grammar - practical grammatical terms for nouns, nouns, pronouns, adjectives, sex, verb, factor, tense, inverse, synonyms, idioms, expressions, word-combination etc.
  • Unreadable prose
  • Descriptive or scientific (discursive, literary, narrative or scientific).
  • Practical grammar such as semantics, noun, pronoun, adjective, gender, word, date, tense, inverse, synonyms, phrases (phrase)
Maths/Science/Social Science: The questions from these topics will examine the candidate’s ability to understand and solve a problem, pedagogical understanding of the subject, according to syllabus prescribe by NCERT.

REET Preparation Tips 2017 – Tips and Tricks to Study

Apart from subject specific knowledge, candidates will need some general tips and tricks to study effectively for the exam. Check out the REET preparation tips 2017 given below for effective preparation and study.
  1. Collect the required preparation material according to the level of exam (paper 1 or paper 2)
  2. Make your own notes while preparation.
  3. Get separate book for each unit as given in the syllabus. Candidates are advised to not clutter themselves with books as it will hinder their preparation. Buy one book which will cover the complete topic in detail.
  4. Give more focus to the scoring sections of the exam such as Child Development and Pedagogy.
  5. Block two and half hours everyday to study maths and solve mock tests regularly. Candidates are advised to solve at least 2 – 3 REET sample papers daily.
  6. Candidates should attempt those questions first, whose answers they are sure about and then move on to difficult questions. This will help the candidates to block a certain number of marks in the exam.
  7. Regular Revision is a must. At the end of day candidates must go over each and every topic studied by them during the day.
